Willy Robert Pitzer Foundation endows professorship

The Institute for Medical Virology at University Clinic Frankfurt, led by EMTHERA board member Sandra Ciesek, has secured € 3 M to establish a new professorship for molecular virology of human-pathogenic RNA viruses. The professorship is jointly funded by the State of Hesse and the Willy Robert Pitzer Foundation. For the first five years, € 1.4 M is made available via the State's funding line “LOEWE-Spitzen-Professur”. The Willy Robert Pitzer Foundation now endowed € 1.75 M to fund the professorship for another five years. The professorship will form an integral part of EMTHERA's scientific program.
