Today, the formal opening event of the Institute for Quantitative and Computational Biomedicines (IQCB) takes place.
The event will be opened by Professor Peter Baumann, IQCB founding director, Professor Georg Krausch, President of the Johannes Gutenberg-University (JGU) Mainz, and Clemens Hoch, Ministry of Science and Health Rhineland-Palatinate. The keynote lecture "Quantitative Computational Biosciences - A Scientific Quest Across Disciplinary Boundaries" will be held by Professor Thomas Lengauer. Furthermore and among others, EMTHERA PIs Professor Hanna Kokko and Professor Sara Vieira-Silva will contribute with a lecture.

The IQCB is an interdisciplinary research institute at JGU Mainz, where scientists work together on theoretical and applied research projects at the interface of the life sciences and neighbouring disciplines such as mathematics, computer science, physics, chemistry and engineering.
